Green Initiatives


CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 6, 2010) – The Chattanoogan hotel, Chattanooga’s only AAA Four Diamond-rated full-service hotel, is continuing its initiatives to become more environmentally friendly. Effective April 5, 2010, The Chattanoogan is a smoke-free facility.


“This decision was made in response to guest feedback and as part of our ongoing efforts to provide travelers with a clean and healthy environment when they are away from home,” says Tom Cupo, general manager of The Chattanoogan. “We also recycle, conserve energy and water, and provide our guests with the option of a daily linen service.”


As the hotel has been working to become smoke-free in all its rooms, meeting space and public areas, a renovation of the guestrooms, suites and hallways is underway. The 198 guestrooms and suites are receiving an updated look with new carpeting, paint, wallpaper, beds and trim. The guestrooms and suites will be redecorated with warm and inviting shades of brown and taupe, giving a fresh new feel to the space. The hallways of the guestroom floors are receiving new wallcoverings, paint and carpeting with a soothing color palette of beautiful shades of blues and browns. New sumptuous beds will also enhance guest comfort in all suites and guestrooms.


Looney and Associates of Dallas, Texas is overseeing all interior design work for the renovations and was also responsible for the original construction of the hotel. The company is committed to maintaining the integrity of the original design of the hotel, which reflects the city’s history, natural features and rich environment.
