THE CHATTANOOGAN INTRODUCES THE FOUR DIAMOND PACKAGE

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 1, 2014) – The Chattanoogan hotel, a Benchmark Hotel® and the city’s only AAA Four Diamond-rated full-service property, is partnering with the city’s only AAA Four Diamond-rated restaurant, St. John’s Restaurant, to offer a new Four Diamond Package. The package includes upscale overnight accommodations at The Chattanoogan, a four-course gourmet tasting dinner for two at St. John’s and valet parking at the hotel. Package prices start at $229 per couple.

The Chattanoogan was just honored with the prestigious Four Diamond Award for the seventh year in a row. St. John’s has received the recognition for the past four years. The Four Diamond establishments are only a leisurely stroll away from one another.

At The Chattanoogan, guests may enjoy such “four diamond” amenities as The Spa at The Chattanoogan, three outstanding dining establishments, live music at The Foundry on weekends, beautiful architecture and the hotel’s cozy outdoor firepit.

Located in the former St. John’s Hotel that was built at the turn of the 20th Century, St. John’s is the most celebrated restaurant in Chattanooga. For the past five years, the prestigious James Beard Foundation has nominated owner and executive Chef Daniel Lindley as Best Chef in the South. The Chattanooga native opened St. John’s in 2000, and he specializes in serving regional American cuisine prepared with local and seasonal ingredients in a beautiful atmosphere. His culinary career began aboard the Mercy Ship, where he cooked for a 450-person crew of medical volunteers, delivering services to West Africa. Another career highlight for Lindley was working under the direction of Tom Colicchio at the award-winning Gramercy Tavern in New York.

The four-course tasting menu at St. John’s will change nightly based on seasonal selections. A sample menu may begin with a spring asparagus salad with pea shoots, Benton’s country ham and porcini aioli, followed by Pickett’s Ranch trout accompanied by radishes, kale and ramp-Riesling sauce. A delectable third course may consist of beef strip loin with spring pea risotto, mint and baby Vidalia. To conclude the meal, guests will enjoy an incredible dessert, such as chocolate-whiskey torte with buttermilk anglaise and fresh strawberries.
