CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (August 20, 2013) – Benchmark Hospitality International’s The Chattanoogan, Chattanooga’s only AAA Four Diamond-rated full-service hotel, has appointed Chad Reyes as the hotel’s director of rooms. The Chattanooga native is responsible for overseeing the operation and staff of the upscale hotel’s front office, valet, conference services and housekeeping departments.

For the past five years, Reyes was the front office manager at The Chattanoogan, overseeing 24 employees in the front office department and valet. In 2001, Reyes joined The Chattanoogan during preopening. He began his career at the hotel as a pastry cook and then began working as a front desk agent. Mr. Reyes was promoted to front desk supervisor after a few months, and then to evening manager. After working as the evening manager for one year, he was appointed to conference floor manager. Two years later, he was promoted to director of security and served in that role for two years.
Mr. Reyes served on several task force and training assignments with Benchmark, working with the company at Lockheed Martin Center for Leadership Excellence in Maryland, Sorrel River Ranch Resort and Spa in Utah and Snow King Hotel and Grand View Lodge in Wyoming. He has been honored with several prestigious awards from Benchmark, including Leader of the Year, Leader of the Quarter and Best of the Best.
Mr. Reyes is very involved with his church and has served on two recent disaster relief trips, in New Jersey (hurricane relief) and Oklahoma (tornado disaster). He is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, mountain biking and boating.
The Chattanoogan’s IACC-certified newly renovated 25,000 square-foot conference center features a high-tech learning environment with comprehensive meeting planning and audiovisual support services.
